Yoga At Home
Don't be harsh on yourself about doing Yoga at home - it can be difficult to find time (and a quiet place). Try doing a session every 2 or 3 days if possible, but try not to let it become a chore. It should be enjoyable.
If you don't have much time, you might just do a few sun salutes, or you could try a bit of breathing (e.g. counting the breath) on a bus or in a traffic jam. Walking can also be done with a regular breath pattern.
If you are doing a longer session (provided above), here are some tips:
- Try to avoid distractions if possible (turn phone off...)
- Try to wait at least 2 hours after a meal if possible.
- Use a non-slip yoga mat, bare feet.
- If a posture feels wrong or painful, omit.
- Don't omit relaxing, even if you omit some poses.
- Hold each pose for around 10 breaths (or more) on each side.
- At any time, feel free to rest, to do child pose, or hug knees to chest on back.
